In my inaugural school year — 2021-22 — as SJS 社区参与处处长, my main focus was to observe current practices and continue action steps for 学生s to feel included, 安全, and empowered to participate fully in all aspects of community life. 较低的学校 学生s participated in programs that expanded their cultural competencies and provided opportunities for 学生s to share about their family celebrations. 中学 学生s connected through daVinci activities and Advisory conversations ranging from topics like definitions of community, 好朋友的特征, 身份的复杂性, 以及刻板印象和标签的负面影响. 高年级学生, Affinity Groups were just one avenue for 学生s to get connected and feel a sense of belonging and the Unity Council facilitated forums on a wide range of topics. 上学校 学生s also enjoyed robust club offerings that allowed for them to plug into and find their niches in our community. Across all three divisions, chapels varied this year with recognition of world 宗教s. In short, our programming reflected our community’s rich 多样性.

A primary step for the 2023-24 school year includes the determining measurement for success in the area of 学生 eng年龄ment.
